Tag-a-War(d)

As usual, when nothing else comes to your rescue a tag definitely does. So, while I still figure out how to get back to blogging business (I’m still suffering from a writer’s block of sorts... the mag robbed me of all my Kreativity), what could be better to grace my beautiful blog than this tag-a-war(d) by Ani.
The Award
(I hope this is the right one, Ani. There were two, so I kinda randomly picked this, coz I've already been awarded the other one)
It’s basically an award that includes a tag. I remember there was a set of rules for this tag but I have no intentions of searching for it. I had just saved the questions when I saw the post and I’d rather get down to doing it before my mother, my sweet angelic mother, calls me in her sugar-coated voice to REQUEST me to prepare lunch! Hmph! (Yeah! She’s been doing that for over a month now. The day she realised orders don’t work as well with me as requests do, she altered her strategy and there’s no escape routeL)

1. What is your current obsession?
Sleep! I’m catching up on it and I’m always sleepy (Don’t ask!).  And oh! Twitter too! It’s so much fun bombarding everyone’s home pages with your trash. :)

2. What are you wearing today?
Vest and shorts.

3. What’s for dinner?
    1) It is 11:22 in the morning and I haven’t even had breakfast, then how the frigging hell am I supposed to know what’s for dinner?!?!
     2) On second thoughts, over-cooked chapattis, that’s what’s for dinner. Since ultimately I’ll end up preparing it and I’m tired of cooking so I’ll just burn everything. Perhaps then mom would stop asking me to cook. *evil grin*

4. What’s the last thing you bought?
A recharge coupon for my phone. *sigh*

5. What are you listening to right now?
Fuzon- More saiyyan mose bole na.

6. What do you think about the person who tagged you?
Ah! I love his 55ers (or less)... would make sure I checked his blog every day before leaving for he was doing the NaBloPoMo posts and they were such a breath of fresh air. Not once did it get redundant or boring. Kudos, Ani!

7. What are your must-have pieces for summer?
Vest and Shorts :P

8. If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?
Back to sleep.

9. Which language do you want to learn?
French and even Bengali: I’ve always been fascinated by the sheer sweetness of these languages.

10. What’s your favourite quote?
“Main niiii” (You see, it’s habit to always reply in the negative)
On a serious note, this would be my favourite quotation: “If we admit that human life can be ruled by reason, the possibility of life is destroyed.”

11. Who do you want to meet right now?
I don’t know why (perhaps because his father just called), but I really want to meet P.K.M. right now. He was my dearest, closest friend until an unfortunate incident happened and after that, even though our families are still in touch, we never had the chance or courage to face each other. I wish I could see him now. I miss you, my friend.

12. What is your favourite colour?
Black, any day!

13. What is your favourite piece of clothing in your own closet?
My shorts; I’m obsessed with them! And that Weekender skirt as well! J

14. What is your dream job?
Anything where I don’t actually have to work. I’ve always said that I’m a bibliophile by choice and want to make it a profession too. So, anything where all I have to do is read books (just read them, mind you, no reviews either!) and that’s that. :P

15. What’s your favourite magazine?
Needless to say, it was NOW. It still might be, I don’t know.

16. If you had $100 now, what would you spend it on?
Add it to the money I’m saving for my Pulsar 220. :P

17. What do you consider a fashion faux pas?
Wearing ill-fitted clothes and anything pink. I’m sick of pink! There’s so much of it on the campus.

18. Who are your style icons?
No one, really. On second thoughts, anyone who knows what looks good on them and how to carry what they’re
wearing. That’s about it.

19. What kind of haircut do you prefer?
Messed up (which I’m told is called ‘emo’ these days). Only because then I can avoid combing and still not worry about how my hair looks. After all, it’s supposed to be messed up! :P

20. What are you going to do after this?
I have two more tags to finish and some 60 blogs to visit (have been away for too long, dammit!) and two tutorials to write and some 5-6 essays to read and 7 different books (that I’m reading at the same time) to finish. I’ll go sleep. J

21. What are your favourite movies?
Ever After, 10 things I hate about you, Into the Wild, The Shawshank Redemption Satte pe Satta (yeah, fine! Stop raising your eyebrow. I do love the movie.), Jo Jeeta Wohi Siknadar, Andaaz Apna Apna and well, these are the ones that came to my mind. The list could go on...

22. What are three cosmetic/makeup/perfume products that you can’t live without?
Can live without everything. I don’t use make-up anyways. Just the dear old kajal. J

23. What inspires you?
Everything. Yes! Everything. Let’s not even get into this now.

24. Give us three styling tips that always work for you:
1) Comfort- always comes first.
2) Make sure what you wear fits you well
3) Minimal DOES work best

25. What do you do when you “have nothing to wear” (even though your closet’s packed)?
It’s time for a clean-up! Throw out all the ‘useless’ clothes and go buy new ones. J

26. Coffee or tea?
Both! Nothing beats a refreshing, hot bed-tea in the morning and a cup of equally refreshing, steaming coffee at night (especially when you have to pull an all-nighter before exams)

27. What do you do when you are feeling low or terribly depressed?
It's a secret!
On second thoughts, I’m quite addicted to the self-inflicted, umm, traumas.

28. What is the meaning of your name?
Creation! I would be really surprised if you hadn’t figured that out by now.

29. Which other blogs you love visiting?
There are too many to mention here. Just take a look at my blog-roll.

30. Favorite Dessert/Sweet?
Jalebi!
And Chocolate truffle and gulabjamun and well, roshogullas!
Okay. Stop.

 31. Favorite Season ?
Winter. J

32. If I come to your house now, what would u cook for me?
I’ll tell you to get out. I’m tired of cooking, freak!

Girl Like That (The Musical Tag)

I remember I was tagged by Nishi (and someone else too, though now I don't even remember who it was). Now, this tag happened some 8-9 months ago and me being the lazy-bum that I am never got down to actually doing it. One of the reasons being the fact that my computer would constantly keep crashing down all through last year which meant that I never really had any songs for the data was all lost (Yes, I never created a back-up). But now that I have some 4GB worth of music in my pc (and after a downloading marathon-167 songs in one day) I have decided to finally do this tag.
The rules of the game are pretty simple.
First of all, put your MP3 player/media player on shuffle.
For each question, press the next button for your answer.
You should write the song down, no matter what.

1. IF SOMEONE SAYS "IS THIS OKAY?", YOU SAY?

F. N. T.- Semisonic.
I'm surprised that you've never been told before
That you're lovely and you're perfect
And that somebody wants you

I'm surprised that you've never been told before
That you're priceless yeah, you're holy
Even when you are not new.

Although I generally tell them the truth, I have a knack for saying it in a way that won’t really hurt anyone. The fact that I also have a knack for seeing the good in just about everyone and everything comes in quite handy! :-)

2. WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?

Wake Up- Lost Prophets
So are we lost or do we know
Which direction we should go
Sit around and wait for someone to take our hands and lead the way

Cuz every day we're getting older
And every day we all get colder
We're sick of waiting for our answers

Wake up, Wake up, Wake up,
Yeah so tired of waiting, waiting for ourselves
Wake up, Wake up, Wake up,
Yeah so sick of waiting, for us to make a move

Well, this doesn’t really describe my personality but ‘tis quite true... In the sense that I do need to wake up. I am a procrastinator and it’s high time I l took things in my own hands.

3. WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?

In Bloom- Nirvana
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he don't know what it means
don't know what it means

LOL! Although this is not what the song implies but I guess someone who is easy to get along with, someone who appreciates life and is humble (and a little lost too, perhaps. Don’t know why, but for some weird reason I like that!)

4. HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY?

I’m ready- Bryan Adams
I'm Ready - To Love Ya
I'm Ready - To Hold Ya
I'm Ready - To Love Ya
I'm Ready - To Hold Ya
Ready as - I'm gonna be

Yes, I’m ready. Not for anything else, but for my exams that begin tomorrow. LOL.

5. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF YOUR LIFE?

Yes- Beyonce
Huh? Now this doesn’t make sense!
Do I get another chance?
Well, this is my tag... I, sure as hell, do!

Good Riddance- Greenday
Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

Yes, yes, this figures! The purpose of my life- to make the best out of it, to enjoy every moment, to live it to the fullest!

6. WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?

Knocking On Heaven’s Door- Guns and Roses

Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door

Again, although the song implies something else, this, for me, would mean a constant urge to move higher.  I don’t really have a motto but there are two that I generally remind myself of-

‘Citius, Altius, Fortius’- The Olympic motto. It translates into ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger’

'Solum Dum Prae Oculis'- It’s Latin and it means ‘Only God before Your Eyes’. Now, I’m not much of a religious person, in fact, I’m not at all religious. So, for me this motto translates into something like- “Only the goal before Your Eyes”... nothing else matters. Focus is important.

7. WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU?

Say Goodbye- Skillet

Things are changing
It seems strange and
I need to figure this out
You've got your life
I got mine
But you're all I cared about
Yesterday we were laughing
Today I'm left here asking
Where has all the time gone now
I'm left alone somehow
Growing up and getting older
I don't want to believe it's over

Well, I’m not one to desert my friends. I’ve been on the receiving end so many times in the past that I can’t even dream of doing that to anyone. I don’t really know what my friends think of me, but if they know me they would know that they’re the most important thing in my life. I cherish them all!

8. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR PARENTS?

Slow dancing in a burning room- John Mayer

It's not a silly little moment,
It's not the storm before the calm.
This is the deep and dying breath of
This love that we've been working on.

Can't seem to hold you like I want to
So I can feel you in my arms.
Nobody's gonna come and save you,
We pulled too many false alarms.

We're going down,
And you can see it too.
We're going down,
And you know that we're doomed.
My dear,
We're slow dancing in a burning room.

Again- fits in more than one ways. I cannot really explain, it’s too complicated

(I’m starting to get an eerie feeling now. This tag is weird. Somehow, all the songs seem to fit the questions (apart from that one exception, of course) and surprisingly, all the songs have a prophetic feel to them. They’re not just answering the questions but predicting the future. )

9. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN?

All Good Things Come to an End- Nelly Furtado

Honestly, what will become of me?
I don't like reality
It's way too clear to me

But really life is dandy
We are what we don't see
We miss everything daydreaming

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?

Darn! Too perfect! Bull’s eye! Fits to the T! Now you know what I mean when I say this quiz is prophetic and that’s freaking me out. This song has inspired me in more ways than one. I think about it every so often. It has become a sort of an anthem for me and it had to answer this question. Even if I was deliberately picking up songs to answer these questions- this is the one song I would’ve picked!

10. WHAT IS 2+2?

All Apologies- Nirvana

What else should I be?
All apologies.

LOL! Is that my playlist apologising for it doesn’t know the answer? Genius, ain’t it? LOL

11. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?

  Please Forgive Me- Bryan Adams

So If you're feelin' lonely.. don't
You're the only one I'd ever want
I only wanna make it good
So if I love ya a little more than I should

It says it all, doesn’t it? I don’t have one best friend... don’t really believe in that concept. For me, there are friends and acquaintances... if you’re a friend, then you’re the most important thing in my life. Period.

12. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PERSON YOU LIKE?

Bryan Adams- Cloud Number Nine

And the moon is out and the stars are bright
And whatever comes s'gonna be alright
Cause tonight you will be mine - up on cloud number nine
And there ain't no place that i'd rather be
And we can't go back but you're here with me
Yeah, the weather is really fine - up on cloud number nine

Ahem ahem! I refrain from saying anything more. *wink*

13. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?

My World- Sick Puppies

So here I am again.
In the middle of the end.
And the trust I wish I'd made
I always make too late

Welcome to my world
Where everyone I ever need always ends up leaving me alone.
I know that yes it burns
And I'm drowning in the ashes
Kicking
Screaming
Welcome to my world

Crap! Scarily accurate, yet again! My life, so far has been one hell of a ride and that’s all I’m willing to divulge

14. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?

For Sure- Lost Prophets

If I can walk 1000 miles a day i try
To do it cos I don't know if u really say
I think I saw the sky tonight
Pushing through it feels alright
And I just don't know who I want to be

At times I think that all I need is summer sun
Burning in my eyes and breaking through the trees
At times I feel my place is empty
It looks as though I never met me
But my smile does only show one side of me

True! I just don’t know who or what I want to be, yet. Maybe, someday I’ll figure it out.

15. WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?

A Thousand Apologies- Lost Prophets

SO AFRAID!
Thoughts come my way,
LOSE IT ALL!
But it was nothing anyway,
WHAT'S DONE IS DONE!
And I know I'll be saved,
In time you will,
SO MOVE ON!
God said he'd help me through

I’ve done what I could. Now, all I can do is to wait for results.

16. WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?

Irreplaceable- Beyonce

You must not know 'bout me
You must not know 'bout me
I could have another you by tomorrow
So won't you ever for a second get to thinkin'
You're irreplaceable

ROFLMAO! Not one day passes when my parents don’t express their wish to trade me for anyone else! (Although, I know they don’t really mean it but I know they always wish I was something else- a little better, perhaps.)Hahahaha. This one was really funny.

17. WHAT WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING?

Ride- Lost Prophets

With you it's never good enough
Because you want the stuff
That could change your future
You're lost amongst a sea of chance
And now the more you dance
Just gets you sinking deeper

Its ok don't apologize
You don't know what you're striving for
And you never seem to try
It's too early, don't live your lie
Keep on moving, it's time to

Ride, ride, ride, now it's time to ride, ride, ride

I can’t dance to this song (ever!) but this song will be definitely played on my wedding (if there is one). For sure!

18. WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?

Like You’ll Never See Me Again- Alicia Keys

If I had no more time
No more time left to be here
Would you cherish what we had?
Was it everything that you were looking for?
If I couldn't feel your touch
And no longer were you with me
I'd be wishing you were here
To be everything that I'd be looking for
I don't wanna forget the present is a gift
And I don't wanna take for granted the time you may have here with me
'Cause Lord only knows another day is not really guaranteed

So every time you hold me
Hold me like this is the last time
Every time you kiss me
Kiss me like you'll never see me again
Every time you touch me
Touch me like this is the last time
Promise that you'll love me
Love me like you'll never see me again

I guess this should be played before the funeral rather than at it! But, nonetheless, it’s a good reminder that nothing is eternal, nothing stays forever... so make the most of what you have for you never know, kya pata- kal ho naa ho!

19. WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?

Stop Crying Your Heart Out- Oasis

Cos all of the stars are fading away
Just try not to worry you'll see them some day
Take what you need and be on your way
And stop crying your heart out

Erm, ‘counselling’ is not really my idea of a hobby or interest but yes, I cannot see someone in pain or in trouble. I’ll do anything to help them out, no matter what it takes. As far as my hobbies are concerned although writing, reading , blogging, singing and visiting historical monuments are some of the usually mentioned things... what I actually love is- daydreaming!

20. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SECRET?

Embryonic Journey- Jefferson Airplane

Hahahahaha! It’s an instrumental. No lyrics! So, my biggest secret is also the best kept secret and the best part- it remains a secret!

21. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS?

Sach Keh Raha Hai Diwana Dil- RHTDM

So, am I trying to advise them or what? This is a weird song. Yes, there have been betrayals and backstabbing in the past but who cares! I have an awesome bunch of friends and I love them all!

22. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOURSELF?

Some Broken Hearts Will Never Mend- Don Williams

Some broken hearts never mend,
Some memories never end,
Some tears will never dry,
My love for you will never die

Lots of people like rainbows. Children make wishes on them, artists paint them, dreamers chase them, but I am ahead of everybody. I live on one. What's more, I've taken it apart and examined it, piece by piece, colour by colour, and I still believe in it. It isn't easy to believe in something after you know what it's really like, but I am essentially a realist, even though my address is tomorrow, with a wild-blue-yonder zip code. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that I'm a dreamer. I live in a world of my own and yet I'm always real. It’s kind of contradictory but not really.
I'm susceptible to sudden flashes of inspiration, and my intuition is remarkable (Yes, I know it sounds as if I'm gloating ... but it's all true). My judgment may not seem sound or practical at first, because I see months and years ahead. I live in tomorrow. What I say will come true, perhaps after many delays and troubles, but it will come true (Yes it will, no matter what). You can safely say- "She's a little bit magic."
LOL! I can be such a narcissist! I love myself and I love life! (Considering I’m also a pseudo-suicidal freak, this sounds contradictory again, right? Perfect! You’ve now got the gist of what I think of myself.)

23. WHAT WILL YOU NAME YOUR POST?

Girl Like That- Matchbox 20

Well you got to think with a girl like that
Any love is better than nothing
It's better than nothing
You got to think, with a girl like that
Any love at all, is better than nothing
It's better than nothing
Yeah she drags you down and she pulls you up
She pulls you up
Says that she's sorry now but it's not enough
To pull you up
She's sorry

Quite, quite apt. Yes, ‘Girl Like That’ suits this post (especially after the last answer!)

24. WHAT SONG ARE YOU?

Rise Today- Alterbridge

The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

Feels like we're all alone
Running further from what's right
And there are no more heroes to follow

So what are we becoming?
Where did we go wrong?

Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

Yeah, oh yeah
Oh, won't you rise today
And change this world

Yay Yay! Yes, I want to rise today and change this world!

______________________________________________________________________
Author’s note: I loved the tag and I’m glad I didn’t do it before. Some things are just meant to be! :-)

P.S.: I didn't cheat at all! Except that one question where the song wouldn't make sense and I even mentioned it.

Tag-time: I'd like to tag some of new blog buddies (that is to say if they haven't done it already)- Aniket, Amritorupa (have I spelt it correctly?), Prianca, Anubhav (Yes, Anubhav... another step ahead towards your teenagerisation; I want to see you do this!) Aakash, Sandi ('cause otherwise he'll never update his blog) and Rhea (She's back! Woohoo!)

Introspection (tag)

I have been tagged by Prakhar, or rather I tagged myself. This was a sort of a suicidal tag. He had tagged the first 25 persons to comment on his post; I ended up being the first. Although I totally detest tags and have been conveniently ignoring every time I was tagged since a while, I have decided to go ahead with this one.

Rules –
Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you.
At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged.
You have to link the person who tagged you.

Gosh! This is going to be one hell of a job.

1. The only reason I’m sitting here doing this tag is because I have turned into a sort of a recluse. I go to college sparingly. The last time I went to college was 17th February- a good 10 days ago. Most people know that I’m down with the flu, which is just part of the truth. I am obviously not going to blurt why I’m not going to college coz some people from my college read this blog and it would be good for them (and me) to stay blissfully unaware.

2. It has been more than a month since I wrote the first point and then never opened this document again. I’ve recommenced on this task coz I know if I don’t write now I would never be able to mention some of the things I’m planning to blurt out here.

3. I’m called pseudo-suicidal by some people (perhaps, most) and I know I am one. But it’s still ‘pseudo’ coz I’m a coward. I’ve tried to kill myself a hell lot of times but never succeeded. I’ve finally figured out the problem (much thanks to some people for their help) and it’s simple- I’m not at peace. My mind’s in a constant conflict. The day I’m at peace with myself and the decision, I’ll end it forever.

4. Only yesterday I had decided to NOT care about people, become anti-social and not go to college... Got a call this morning... Going to college ‘cause I have a packet of sutta in my bag which belongs to someone else and (god-dammit) I DO care!

5. I’ve been told I’m a good listener. Nice. I also know I’m a horrible talker. Conversations just don’t come naturally to me. I’m here to listen to everybody rant but keep my feelings to myself. But I’m trying hard to get more vocal about my feelings. (Well, this is precisely one of the reasons I’m still writing even though I know once I finish this tag I’ll be even more suicidal.)

6. I’ve been writing for half an hour and have come up with only 4 new points. Sadly, all of them sound similar.

7. Ah! I recalled a funny one. Since college started, I had a huge crush on this one guy. Yesterday, when I had had enough of everything I blurted it out to him. This person replies- “haan, wo to mujhe pata tha.” Damn him! Making life difficult for me! But I’m thankful for the fact the unlike other guys this one’s sensible. There’s nothing awkward between us, everything’s exactly as it was before I let him in on the secret. On any other day, I would have said that I’m glad to have such friends, but not today. Nope.

8. I was planning to ask my dad to teach me how to smoke today. But since, I’m going to college now; I think I’ll have to postpone the plan. I know I WILL start smoking and drinking some day and I also know that day isn’t too far.

9. I wish I could be the same person I was some 3 years ago- buried in her books, not a care in the world, no friends (and hence no backstabbers), never talked to anyone except herself... are wishes meant to come true?

10. Wow! I just had an argument with my mum. Nothing new about it except the fact that it’s only quarter past 8 in the morning. Result- the entire day is ruined already.

 11. Not many people know this but I’m a black belt in Karate.

12. And not many people know this but I’m also a trained Kathak dancer, a state-level swimmer (or rather used-to-be... I was selected to represent Delhi at the Nationals but then I got eye-flu and that was the end of my swimming carrier.), can skate pretty well. I’m also a self-trained vocalist (sounds better than ‘bathroom singer’, doesn’t it?).

13. I suffer from a major inferiority complex and low self-esteem.

14. I wish I had a house in some forest... far away from any civilization and close to nature.

15. Although I do paint sometimes I regret the fact that I can’t play any instrument.

16. There was just one person (the only one to do so) who loved me. Sadly, she left for her heavenly abode on 6th March, 2002. Since then... never mind. I’m not coming to the ‘since then’ part.

17. Sometimes, I wish my grandparents were alive. Although my nanaji (maternal grandfather) is still around, it’s as if he doesn’t exist. Some 7-8 years back when she (read 16) was still alive, he had decided to ‘boycott’ me for I was considered the ugly duckling (not in terms of looks, but behaviour and intelligence) of my family. He has come to regret the decision and wants reconciliation, but I can't forget or forgive him for what he'd done.

18. In a (extended) family of some 27-30 cousins, 12 of whom are elder to me, I’m the only one to have entered a regular college. Everyone either dropped out after class 12th or got such low marks that they were left with no other option than to pursue a correspondence course.

19. I committed a huge mistake when I had taken up science in class 11th. By the time I realised this, it was too late. I slogged for two years, lost myself in the process but for some strange reason managed to pass. I still don’t believe in miracles, though.

20. I do not believe in coincidences either. They just don’t make sense to me.

21. I’m getting really late now, but I’ve promised myself that I’ll complete this.

22. I hate ***** for his one mistake. No matter how much I respect him, I can never forgive him.

23. I wished to make a difference in this world, but I’ve realised it is pointless.

24. I write only when I’m depressed and not otherwise. Considering I’m depressed most of the times, I write a lot but those writings are never posted here. Most of it is written to be forgotten.

25. I don’t think I have anything left to say now and my patience is running out. Besides, I’m getting late...
Author’s note: I won’t tag anyone. You want to do it? Go ahead.

THE FOUR THINGS, FIVE MONTH OLD TAG !

Yes, you guessed right. I was tagged five months ago by Ayush(http://aupsy.blogspot.com/) and Nishi(http://nishiaggarwal.blogspot.com/) simultaneously. I was not exactly 'very busy' during these last 5 months, as is obvious from the fact that I DID manage to update my blog! But now, when I have a hundred-thousand things to do, a million ideas waiting to be penned down and a zillion assignments awaiting my return, patiently; that i've decided to do this tag which is actually quite thakela (dont mind ..).
So, instead of blabbering on and on and on... lets just get started.

Four schools/colleges/jobs I’ve been at in my life :

1)Playway school, mall road (presently- American Playway, Model Town): That was where my mum decided to dump me when she went on her 'save-the-world' sprees. LOL. Seriously speaking, my first school... this one holds a very special place in my heart. This is where 'Kriti Sharma' was first discovered. This is where the dormant stubborn gene showed its true colors... and yeahh.. this is where the kid who sat right behind me used to 'potty' in his pants everyday! [ if i had used any other word... it wudnt have had the same effect.. wotsay? ;-)]

2) Queen Mary's School, Tis Hazari: Now now.. THAT was where i spent my 14 saal ka vanvaas. From nursery to class 12th QMS was one helluva experience. It kicked off with me reprimanding my nursery teacher (when she scolded me for doing other childrens' classwork once i had finished my own!) with "mere tauji aapko aisa thappad maarenge ki aapka sir ghoom jayega!"... and ended with an equal bang with me being suspended in class 12th and (not 'for'!) shouting at my princi! (that's what SHE thought... i am such a sweet demure... y wud i do that? :P). But yeahh.. i did manage to pass with a good-enough 89% in class 10th and an equally acceptable 76% in class 12th.. so.. i wasn't exactly the 'gundi' that everyone thought I was!!
Overall, a bittersweet but nonetheless, a self-discovering journey which taught me so much that i cant even remember all of it now! hehe..

3) Bal Bhawan,ITO: That was where I embarked on a journey of self-discovery (still haven't reached my destination, but i am pretty close to it!). Under the superb guidance of Gaur Sir (i miss you!) and a dear friend Anjum ( who has even forgotten my name! Asshole! But i cant exactly blame him.. its been more than 4 years now..) I discovered the poetess in me. That was where my love of books scaled great heights (after all, i was one of the few privileged ones who had access to the 'restricted section' of the library!) and yeah, this was the place that gave me the person I cherish most in my life!

4) Ramjas college: What to say! I fell in love with the college when I visited it for the first time and this affair will continue for the next 3 years and even after ive passed out from the college. Thanks to Ramjas i have friends who actually live up to the word. Riley and Abassi (which means 'god'.. so "A".. thank me!) and me... together make a whacko team. Not to forget the others- Debbie (m soo sorry! but srsly debzzz.. i cant help it! lol!), K (the gorgeous one!), F (mast bandi! bas kabhi college aa jaya kare!))KK (the most decent guy ive ever met.. like.. seriously!), Annie (not anen! The demure, coy and bashful lil gal! Sweetness personified!) and Sam (probably a future best friend!).
ahh...
F.R.I.E.N.D.S.H.I.P.

Four TV shows I love to watch :

Those who are on my GTalk or Messenger list know that if I am at home then I'm online- full time. That means, I don't watch TV at all except for the occasional cricket match or news-bulletin. But, I've had my own share of 'all-time favorites'.. and that is precisely what I am going to mention.

1) CARTOONS: Which moron hasn't grown up with these? my personal favorites are Ton n Jerry, Aladdin, Ducktales, Talespin, Mogli ( m obsessed with it till date! My ringtone is the title song- jangal jangal baat chali hai!).. not to forget.. some of the more recent ones, which i had to watch coz my bro won't let me watch anything else till last year ( not that he lets me now.. ive just given up trying!)- Shinchan (Gosh! i was.. no .. AM obsessed with that wicked lil kid.), Doraemon (pretty stupid and repetitive.. time-pass nonetheless.), Pokemon (okay.. That was one which had me hooked!), Ben 10.. and well.. its a never-ending list!

2)The O.C. and Indian Idol: Yeah.. a weird combo. but these are two shows that I was hooked on to during the time I was preparing for my class 10th boards. Used to watch OC at 2am standing so close to the tv screen that had I been a TV as well.. we wud have actually made out there and then (weird thought .. yeahh... ewww...!) and the volume turned down to '1' so that mom wont wake up!

3)The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and Comedy Circus: Some exceptional acts, some equally lousy ones.. but nonetheless.. a great stress buster.. both these shows!

4)ummmm....... well....... umm....... lets just say.. the Twenty20 world-cup! That was like a regular prime-time soap, though much more exciting!

Four places I have lived :

1)Delhi
2) Delhi
3) Delhi
and.. finally...
4) Delhi
by the way.. did i mention DELHI???!!
I am a pakki dilliwali!!! Don't wanna go anywhere else!

Four movies I can watch over and over :

1)Sholay: Okay. Thats a cliche. But everyone knows... characters like Gabbar, Jai and Viru and Thakur and that "angrzon ke zamane ka jailor" cant be reproduced (on screen)!
2)Satte-Pe-Satta: Another Amitabh flick, but this story of 7 brothers and their 'chain kuli ki main kuli' is one movie that never ever bores me!
3) Golmaal (old one.. with amol palekar!): classic comedy!! Need I say more about this movie?
4) Hitch: the name speaks for itself!
There are some others that need mention- Kal Ho Na Ho (phenomenal movie!), Serendipity, Titanic, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, 27 Dresses, Pearl Harbour...

Four books I liked the most (read in recent times) :

I am a self-confessed bibliophile, but that doesn't mean that the stuff I read is the best out there, no, but its certainly something Ilike!
1)The Fountainhead: I don't have to say anything about this book,I can't.. I am not qualified enough! But it taught me some things that I'm gonna cherish all my life!
2)The Shadow Lines: This is what Wikipedia says about the book- "It is a book that well captures the perspectival view of time and events, of lines that bring people together and hold them apart, lines that are clearly visible on one perspective and nonexistent on another. Lines that exist in the memory of one, and therefore in another's imagination. A narrative built out of an intricate, constantly criss-crossing web of memories of many people, it never pretends to tell a story. Rather it invites the reader to invent one, out of the memories of those involved, memories that hold mirrors of differing shades to the same experience." I agree! Whole-heartedly!
3)The Home And The World: A book where everyone is polaying games with evryone and end up fucking their own lives.. thats how i think the book is best described! No offence to Mr. Tagore though. I, personally, luuurve how he shaped up Bimala's character, how she transformed from a husband-worshipping, homely typical Indian wife to the epitome of the Indian woman... bharatmata.. or the mother of bengal! Then, there's Nikhil whose only aim in life, I guess, is to play with people like pawns on a chess-board. And, in the end, Mr. Sandip... one guy, who definitely knows what he wants.. and how to get it!
4) Harry Potter series: kiddish.. yeahh.. stupid. maybe.. but this is one series that actually made me read!!

Four places I have been on holiday:

1)Mussoorie: The first and probably (not hopefully!) the last place I went to with my school friends. A cup of tea in one hand, pakoras in another, standing in the balcony, surrounded by heavy mist as the sun sets and the enchanting valley of dehra lights up.. it was one magical trip. My only regret- I lost a dear friend of mine on that trip. Still, ill cherish the times we spent together!
2)Rajasthan: A 3-4 days trip every year to my hometown... and a 10-day long trip with the NCC team 4 years back.... I wish i could go back in time and see the forts and palaces bustling with life as the maharajas ponder over matters of the state... fascinating!
3)Ahmedabad: went there as a kid, don't remember anything except watching Biwi No.-1 in the drive-way theatre.. which was even visible from our balcony.. so .. in a way, we could have watched it from the comfort of our home without even having to shell a single rupee! :P
4)Umm.. does sitting in the comfort of my home, here in Delhi itself, count??

Four of my favourite dishes:
Ah.. now that's a good one!

1)Shahi Paneer: Anytime!! This 'shahi' dish excited my taste buds like no other!
2)French Fries: No one makes em better than me! (though, it doesn't quite qualify as a dish.. does it?)
3)Chhole bhature: After all, I am a delhiite.. and i have punjabi blood running through my veins!
4)Chilli Potatoes: The chinese version of french fries...... mmmm.....

Four websites I visit daily:

1)Orkut :Baby.. I'm addicted!
2)Gmail and Yahoo Mail
3)Facebook
4)Blogs
and there's another one- Bored.com.. its quite fun actually.. check it out!

Four places I would rather be right now:

1) Exactly where I was a day before! In my college.. with.. you-know-who.. my head on his/her shoulder.. no one uttering a single word.. the best silent conversation!
2) In my college.. again.. at our adda ('the heaven' we call it!) but with friends this time! :P
3)In Hogwarts!
4)Back in mussoorie... a cup of tea in my hand.. watching the sun-set from my friend's house over the cliff!

Four music tracks playing on my comp(of late):

1)Bet On It: High School Musical 2
2)When You're Gone: Avril
3)Secret Crowds: AVA
4) Jeena isi ka naam hai: Rak kapur's oldie...

Four people I am tagging :

1)Rhea
2)Prianca
3)Priyanka
4)CRD

PHEW!!
that was loooong.. wasn't it?
OK.. it wasnt as lame as i thought it was..

Tagged By Myself!!!

Having gone through the questionnaire at least 13 times, I have finally mustered up the courage to actually start answering them. ‘courage’ because there are some questions that I don’t feel like answering but since I was born with an ‘I must not tell lies’ stamp on my forehead, and being someone who isn’t afraid to speak her mind without even once paying heed to what the consequences might turn out to be, I have finally started off. Moreover, yes, ‘courage’ also because when it comes to typing… I am a slouch (not that I am not one otherwise, but when it comes to typing, then my sluggishness knows no bounds). Keeping this in mind, I will tell you exactly when I start and finish off this tag, because, it might take days or even a few years to complete it!
And if I keep going on with this rubbish, then I might not finish it at all, and I don’t want to keep my readers (if there are any!) awaiting.
And I’m off…. (By the way, today is 31st October 2007)

Smoked a cigarette? Ok. Now, this one isn’t too tough. The answer is no. At least not if you leave out passive smoking. If that counts too, then, you may as well call me a chain smoker because my dad’s one and I’m constantly inhaling the smoke. (Though, now he’s understood that he shouldn’t do so at home, at least not when Kalrav is around. How that happened is also an interesting anecdote…. Well, as usual, he was smoking one day when Kalrav asked him if he could try it too. And obviously (anyone thinking otherwise is a moron) he was reprimanded. To which my dear brother replied- “agar aap pi sakte ho to main bhi! Mat do, main khud pi lunga!” (n he’s only six! Imagine that!). So, that was a lesson well learnt for dad.)
So, half an hour gone by, and I’ve just answered one question. Kewl!!!

Crashed a friend’s car?: don’t even know how to drive, let alone crash a car… waise… Do bikes count???

Stolen a car?: will someone please tell me why I would do that (or rather, how I would do that) when I can’t even drive!!!!

Been in love?: hehe… ye to bhagwaan khud hi bata sakta hai… go ask him…

Been dumped?: Naah… n I hope not either…

Shoplifted?: well, I don’t know why I can’t remember any such incident, but I’m sure I must’ve done so sometime coz well… I am no noble soul… hehehe *smirking*

Been in a fist fight?: loads of times, with Kalrav it’s a daily ritual. Before that we held special wrestling competitions (by ‘we’ here, I mean, me n my cousins, (n by the way, I used to be the only girl involved))
N yeahh well.. We had this terrible fight in our karate class when I was like 10-11 yr old… though I don’t quite remember why it started off.. However, what I do remember is that it turned out to be quite nasty and I got a good thrashing at home (even though I was hurt! Humph!!!!) coz I had (apparently) broken the boy’s nose.
All in all, I guess, I’m ‘quite’ a ‘violent creature’ *evil grin*

Snuck out of your parent’s house?: No, unless you count late night visits to the terrace without informing them.

Had feelings for someone who didn’t have them back?: ohh well.. Well well well.. This was ‘tough’ one I was talking about. Well, the person-in-question himself is not too net savvy but some of his friends are, and they might come across this and tell him. Well, ab jo hoga, so hoga!
The answer is yes! I had a huge crush on a neighbor when I was in 7th and it lasted for 3 yrs. and he never came to know though we met nearly everyday.
“And by the way, if you (my crush) ever come across this, then I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you because if it wouldn’t have been for you then I would have never given my 10th board exams. (long story, not worth telling to my readers) “

Been arrested?: haan haan! Jail se hi to likh rahi hu, ala Gandhi!
Of course not!!

Gone on a blind date?: Haven’t yet gone on any date whatsoever!

Skipped school?: so many times, do saal se wohi to kar rahi hu!

Been on a plane?: no, not yet!

Seen someone die?: yes. My brother. The scene left such an imprint , it still gives me shudders when I remember that night!!

Been to Canada?: what the hell is this question doing here???

Purposely set a part of yourself on fire?: yeah! I bet with my friend that I can keep my hand on the flame longer than he can, and then, we both ended up burning our hands!!

Been jet-skiing?: No. want to!!!

Met someone in person from the Internet?: not yet, but planning to.

Taken pain killers?: yeahh, recently! I won’t recall the whole incident as I’ve already answered this question in another tag.

Flown a kite?: yes and no. o\On my own, I couldn’t make it rise at all. But when my brothers gave me an already -in-the-air kite, then I could fly it with ease!

Built a sand castle?: It was more like ’soil’ castle. Never been to a beach, so jo banaya that was in my garden!

Gone puddle jumping?: oh yes! Yes! Yes! And such fun it was!!

Cheated while playing a game?: hmm.. Though I don’t like doing so, but when I was 9 or 10 and we used to play hide n seek, I did!

Been lonely?: I prefer being lonely. Leave me alone, and I’m happy!

Fallen asleep at work or school/college?: yeah! In my maths class at school and in biology class at my institute.

Used a fake ID?: yeah. I remember, just once I guess. That was in Bal Bhawan and I used it so that I could go on a trip for which I was legally not allowed being underage!

Felt an earthquake?: 3 times. The first one I felt was a strong one, the one that hit Chamoli in 1999. I remember I was watching ‘dil se’ (horrible movie, amazing music) and I felt the bed shaking and I actually hit my mum n told her to stop doing that! Thankfully, she was sleeping soundly, so I got off with it!! hehe.
Second time, we were in class, ghar ja ke pata chala it was a mild earthquake.
And the third time… gawd!!! That was hilarious!! This very year, the day after HP7 was released, I slept late at night after I completed the book and there some scenes where voldemort talked through the walls of Hogwarts. And well, when the earthquake struck in the wee hours, and my bed shook, I literally woke up and told voldemort to stop using my bed as a microphone and shut up! And I know this, coz my mother was there and she watched that! Imagine how ridiculous it would’ve been!

Touched a snake?: stomped on one (bare feet), while strolling through the fields in my village. Then, ran the complete three kms. to my place and to my horror- my cousin, who had seen what had happened came after me carrying that snake(apparently, it was harmless) and kept scaring me for the rest of my stay there! (4 days to be precise)

Slept beneath the stars?: many times, whenever I visit my native place.

Been robbed?: not exactly.

Been misunderstood?: haven’t yet been understood once! (except by my best friend, cheena)

Won a contest?: hmmm.. Some inter-school quizzes and debates, a few singing competitions, a karate duel, a swimming competition and was in the winning team of the best pyramid (gymnastics) (pata hai, mujhe dekh ke aisa lagta nahi hai, but its true! Seriously!)

Run a red light/stop sign?: will you stop reminding me I cant drive! heyy, wait a min. I did that!! It isn’t necessary to drive a car! I was driving a bike!

Been suspended from school?: yes! Yes! Yes! ohh.. I love this one… I got suspended this very year only…
Hmmm.. me n a bunch of friends gave wrong addresses on our i-cards... (for eg. I wrote.. no. 12 Grimmauld place, London).. n went about wearing those for 2 months.. nobody caught us!...but then.. there was an idiot in another class.. who wrote 'harry potter' in the place of her name.. n obviously.. she got caught!!n our princi.. knowing very well that it could not have been her idea, and there had to be some other mastermind behind it, got a thorough checking done.. yet v managed to stay out of trouble.. (don’t ask me how, that’s highly classified top secret!!!)But then, determined as she was to catch the 'ghapla masters'(that’s the name we were rechristened with after the whole episode).. so she ordered the photographer to get the original slips.. the ones v filled.. n once she got them.. well.. as they say.. 'bhanda phoot gaya'..v were suspended for a week.. n it was soooo much fun!!!
N the cause... Well, it was the 'lack' of discipline!!n besides.. the urge to do something which we'll remember for life!!n my dad, in spite of being a vice principal himself, was cool bout it..n when my princi called him.. he told her that "u r not punishing the students.. u just giving them a gift they'll be only too happy to receive!!.. u should be thankful to them.. coz they brought out such a huge flaw in your administration!!"....imagine that!! that really p***ed off my princi!! hehehe...

Been in a car accident?: no, I guess not.

Eaten a whole pint of ice cream in one night? I don’t quite fancy ice-cream that much!

Walked the streets drunk?: planning to.

Done something you told yourself you wouldn’t?: yeah. Recently I promised myself that I wouldn’t talk to someone, after a pretty serious misunderstanding, but ended up reconciling with him/her.

Made prank phone calls?: oh yes!! I had completely forgotten this one!!
Yes yes! When I was in 6th or 7th... my friend came to my place.. n then we called up her brother... (we knew he was alone at that time) n told him in scary voices that the police is coming to arrest him (he was the same age as us) and then kept calling again n again.. till he got really scared..!!

Caught a snow flake on your tongue?: nopes

Written a letter to Santa Claus?: yes!!!!!! Though I don’t remember what I wrote!!

Blown bubbles?: yes ! Everyone must have done that!

Bonfire on the beach?: bonfire… yes. On the beach… no! well, the story goes like this… I went on an NCC trip to Rajasthan. While returning, me and a bunch of friends decided to deviate from the group so that we could do a li’l bit of shopping (girls! What else do you expect!!). So, there we were… shopping and enjoying while everybody else was wondering where we were… and finally when we reached the hotel a good hour and a half late by the scheduled time, everybody was damn worried and furious! So, we got this ‘little’ punishment… we were not allowed to enter the hotel before midnight, and had to spend a few hours outside in the chilly winds (well, it was 25th of December and Mount Abu can get really frosty!) n if it hadn’t been for the bonfire we would’ve died of hypothermia!

Cheated on a test?: yeah.. Was studying for a test in insti and had an exam the next day in school… desperate measures…

Gone skinny-dipping in a pool?: nope!

Now, today is 8th of November, 2007. So, that means, I completed this in 9 days. Not that bad! could’ve been worse!

P.S.:N plzz.. This time.. My frnz… comment here itself! Not on orkut!
P.S. 2: this tag was awessomme!!! well, nobody tagged me for this one... n wen my patience ran out.. i decided to do it myself!!

tagged by aru. (my first tag)

Ahh… well… my first tag!!!
I hope it goes well…

1. Pick out a scar you have, and explain how you got it.

Well… now who wouldn't want a lightning bolt scar (yup!! m talking to you aru!)
Any ways, coming back to my own, I have got so many that I’ve lost count now. But there’s one that’s special- it’s on my right leg and I got it when I first drove a bike. Didn't know where the silencer was, so got burnt! ( n Yup!! I can drive a bike! Don’t believe me?? Go, wash your face and read this again- I CAN DRIVE A BIKE!!!)
And, by the way, that particular bike which gave me this nut size burn mark [ Actually it looks like an eclipsed sun to me, but then, it would be stretching my imagination too far and you probably would think that I’m a narcissist which I’m not! (See how innocently I’ve included that part without even being called a narcissist! (Hehehe))] is a black pulsar dtsi!! But sadly, it’s no more. My cousin (it was his bike) decided to jump a ditch one night (I guess, he had got a shot of adrenaline) and sadly fell into it (that was obvious!! Considering, the ditch was 15 feet wide and he‘s no professional stunt biker!). He survived with 12 stitches on his forehead but the bike could not endure the 20 feet head-on nose dive and was shattered beyond belief. May you rest in peace!
(And I guess, if this is how I’m going to proceed then I’d better drop the idea of doing this tag right now because in the past 17 minutes I’ve written just 1 answer! Shame on me!!)

2. What does your phone look like?

It isn’t even worth of being looked at! It’s a white and blue nokia 1110 (I call it the ‘baba aadam ke zamane ka cell’). But I had to make do with this one coz I broke my previous one (which was a total beauty! All black, chrome finish, VOQ Sierra A10. It was a Smartphone, equipped with Windows Mobile 2003 and a complete QWERTY thumb pad!)

3. What is on the walls of your bedroom?

Presently, an ancient looking (that’s because it’s got tons of dirt on it, which I haven’t had the time to wipe out due to my ‘busy’ schedule. lol. And I guess, I wouldn’t, it looks better this way.) wooden head which I got from Ahmedabad 8 years back, a self made painting which I’ve put up only to hide the ‘modern art’ my kid brother once made, (Coming to think of it now, I guess, his ‘work’ is better than mine, so ill remove that painting.), the usual ‘do not disturb’, ‘enter at your own risk’ and ‘rules to be followed in my room’ posters on the door. I asked my Pop to get me a bulletin board, but he ignored it so I put up some of my art works and a collage of my pics on my cupboard itself!

4. What is your current desktop picture?

Its portrait of a beautiful lady. It has a calm, serene feel about it. I've put it up at the top of this post.

5. Do you believe in gay marriage?

I believe in and I totally support it too. Having been in an all girl’s school and seeing lesbian couples (classmates, don’t ask me ‘who?’ I wont tell you!), I don’t think there’s anything wrong or ‘disgusting’ (as some people like to believe) about it.
It’s oh-so-normal!

6. What do you want more than anything right now?

I want to sleep and then wake up to find that I have given my boards already, got the result and have even got admission in my favorite course and college. Too much? That’s how I am!

7. Are your parents still together?

Yes!!

8. Last person who made you cry?

It was a movie, and not an emotional one. Rather, an animation film ( Ice Age 2), and those were tears of joy.
Normally, I can’t cry. When I’m distraught, I end up writing a poem, and venting out my anger on someone (or something) completely innocent and unaware. I’m sorry to all those who’ve borne the brunt of my anger. But (again) that’s how I am!!

9. What is your favorite perfume/cologne?

None. I like the bottles better than the perfume itself. Besides, they are hell expensive too. But, there’s this one called ‘magnet’ which my dad got from somewhere for himself without even checking that it was a ladies’ perfume (Hehe. Poppy, tuhadda kujh ni ho sakda!). It’s nice, so that’s what I’m using these days.

10. What are you listening to?

C21’s ‘Stuck in my Heart’

11. Do you get scared of the dark?

No, rather, it fascinates me. But that’s outdoors, if I’m inside, then,- yes! I do get scared, and that’s because I have a mild case of claustrophobia.

12. Do you like pain killers?

Like?? Now what kind of a question is that? If its necessary, I take it. Simple. Recently, I had this terrible toothache and I ended up having 15 combiflams(500mg) and then slept for 18 hrs. straight!

13. Are you too shy to ask someone out?

Hell, yes!!

14. If you could eat anything right now, what would it be?

French Fries!! Anytime, anywhere!! I just love ’em!!

15. Who was the last person who made you mad?

It has to be Kalrav, my kid brother, who else?? Sometimes I feel he has done a diploma course in ‘how to piss off your elder sister’.

16. Who was the last person who made you smile?

Has to be Kalrav, again! He’s a complete joker n a real sweetie too!

17. Is someone in love with you?
Haaiii.. This one’s best answered by the song I’m listening to right now-
“aankhon se tu door hai,
dhadkano ke paas hai,
Teri har yaadein sanam,
kehte hain kha ke hum kasam,
bankar labon pe pyaas hai.
Tagging on: ashish (since u don't 'feel' like writing anything new, so u betr do this tag now that uve been tagged twice. also ayush (ur first tag too.. hmmm...).. the others hav all been tagged.. so wont put up their names..
happy tagging
