The night is your friend

(Starry Night on the Rhone by Vincent Van Gogh)

There is nothing to be afraid.
The night is your friend
My friend
Our friend

When the curtains of death close upon you
Think of the beige moon
Of heaven's high bowers that await
Your misty breath
Upon the icy petals
Of roses and dandelions

For there lies a brighter morrow
When the sun rises
In your final home
Where they all await

When silence stealthily creeps over all whispers
Just sing yourself this song
Fill the night with music
And travel on.

The words remind me of old timer poetry as in pre yeatsian. But the idea is a nice and since I'm commenting on a post of yours after ages, its just poetic justice to be answering with a poem-
I am being followed by a moonshadow
Moonshadow, moonshadow.
Leaping and hopping on a moonshdow;
Moonshadow, moonshadow.
Well, it wasn't really a poem, you know that.

@Nikita

That was quick! Thanks a lot!

@Rhea:

Glad to see you here. Visit more often :)

@Sandi

It is to some extent somewhat influenced by Keats so I yeah, I agree with what you have to say.
And you probably wouldn't believe, but I had that not only that song but also the night when you first introduced me to Cat Stevens in mind while writing this. :)

@Mansi

It is such a pleasure to see you here, always! Thanks a lot. You're too kind.

I hope we see some updates from you soon. :)

In one life, you'll cross the darkest nights and brightest mornings, if one tries you to devoid of anything, the other fill try to make up for it.

Liked it. Has a very calm feel to it despite being a poem about death. I sometimes wonder if you were ever to write about life, how it would be....
